Are there any tips on how to bathe a fearful dog?

My poor dog is scared to death of bath time.

Try to only bathe your dog when it is really dirty. Too much bathing will cause its skin to dry up. Use warm comfortable water.

I have a Teacup Maltese who is afraid too. I try to get her as relaxed as I can. Sometimes giving your dog a treat mid-bath calms them. With bathing you just have to keep doing it a lot so they get used to it.

There are many products available for fearful dogs in need of a bath. Bath powder (also known as a dry bath or dry shower) is the most readily available.

There are several "dry shampoo's" for pets on the market, both spray and power. You can spray the solution on a cloth and wipe down your dog or use the powder (though it's a little messy).
