Are Fonseca cigars Dominican?

Fonseca cigars are a brand name that is used for cigars produced in the Dominican Republic and Cuba. The ones manufactured in the Dominican Republic are not illegal to import into the country. However, due to the embargo that the United States has with Cuba it is illegal to import any Cuban goods into the country, including cigars.

The cigars are produced in Cuba by a man named Don Francisco E. Fonseca. It was originally located out of Havana in 1892. The cigars are wrapped in a Japanese tissue paper and has a mild taste when it comes to cigars. Having an origin of Cuba does not make them illegal.
