Why does my car shimmy when braking?

It's a 1991 Subaru.

You are braking too fast and hard. Your alignment can be off. If it pulls to the right, you need new brakes.

You have a problem that is most likely with your rotors and they need to be turned or replaced. This could also be from worn or out-of-adjustment calipers, which should be checked out as well. Moreover, you need to get this looked by a professional, as this is not a problem that should be driven with or let slide.
