Why does a car go into a skid?

I just started driving and I'd like to avoid skidding.

A main problem is ice. Black ice is very dangerous as its invisible if you don't look carefully. Water on the road is also dangerous.

Your tires have little traction. You should get tires that have more traction. The reason cars skid is because the heat of the car slightly melts the ice on the road, which creates a hydroplane. Do not brake when you are skidding, but go with the skid even if you hit something.
