As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. That's true with computers too: an image stored in a file weights much more in term of storage space than a word, or even a small text. Searching in a text or a web page therefore takes way less time than searching for images, which are slower to load.

Images contain more data than text. An image contains many different pixels which must all be loaded, but text contains a relatively small number of characters.

Images tend to take longer to load because of size. It depends on the size of the image whether or not it loads fast or slow. It also depends on the type of internet connection you have. Dial up seems to be very slow with image loading then cable internet.

When a text search is done the search engine simply sorts through a bunch of text and displays results in text. An image search require searching/displaying larger image file.
