birds  why

Question by  Calindra (10)

Why are my lovebirds breaking their beaks?

Answer by  raun08 (1839)

Beak health is an important indicator of over all health, especially in small birds. Love birds often need outside sources of calcium and protein, especially if they are laying. Giving them a cuttlebone all the time and a hard boiled egg once a week should help.

They may be lacking calcium in their diet. You can change this by giving them a cuttlebone, leafy vegetables, or a hard boiled egg.

There may be some nutrition they need not included in their diet. Make sure they get fresh leafy veggies such as lettuce or celery. Vitamins would help improve the beaks.

Usually if that happens there is something lacking in there diet and it has caused the beaks to become brittle and break easily. You can contact your vet and tell them whats happening and they will be able to help you get the problem fixed you can also do a net search.

The love birds is a beautiful bird an it break their beaks by fighting with one another or it may scratch it with the nest else it may break it by eating the hard fruits. the outer surface of the fruits may break the beaks. But it is not a matter to the birds.
