When you prank call a number, can it be traced?

It can be returned using *69 on most phones. Additionally, if you have a listed number and the pranked person has caller ID they can collect your phone number and report it to the police. Also, if the phone call is harassing enough, and they don't have your number already, the phone company can track the call.

Yes, unless you have caller ID blocking. Your caller ID can be blocked by dialing *67 before placing the call. Alternately, you can request this feature from your phone carrier.

Anytime you call a number it is typically recorded and can be found on that person's phone bill. There is also caller ID that will give the person your name and phone number also. SO yes it can be traced even if your number is "blocked".

Yes, a prank call can be traced. If you don't press *67 then when you make a prank call that number can be traced. Even if you disguise your voice on the phone the law has technology that can decipher the prankster's voice by coding. Your number will show up if it is not a private number.
