What types of questions are on the AP English literature exam?

Questions on English literature AP exams are a mixture of multiple choice and free-response questions based on various prose passages given to test your knowledge of of English sentence structure and rhetoric. This includes diction, figurative language, point of view, allusions, rhetorical modes, and various other literary concepts as related to the given piece.

The first part is multiple choice which is self explanatory. The second half is free response. It has a written passage which you would analyze by writing an essay. Be sure you are comfortable with sentence structure and have an upper level vocabulary.
