It probably has nasal dermatitis. Treatment usually includes antibiotics and cleaning of the animals nose with a mild disinfectant but be sure to protect the eyes while cleaning the nose.

It could be a very small facial cut that got infected and inflamed. The best thing that you can do yourself is keep the cage clean and changing the bedding everyday. This will help keep out infectious germs. If your that worried about it, try finding a small mammal veteranarian for assistance.

This is probably an infection. It could also be a cut from the cage or from scratching itself. If your gerbil is in with others than they could have done it.

Sometimes gerbils have a sensitivity to their bedding especially if it's pine or cedar. Put a little Neosporin around your gerbils nose if it appears sore.
