They are very happy, excited, and playful. They may need to be reeled in a bit to keep them from being too rowdy.

They are a typical hound and they pretty much love anybody I don't think I have ever seen one that is vicious in any way but you can do a net search and get details on the breed.

Pointers tend to be high energy dogs needing plenty of exercise. They are typically friendly with humans but without training and exercise can be 'out of control' and may become nippy. Any hunting breed is apt to have a strong prey drive so training to get alone with other animals and with small children would be important.

I personally have an English Pointer and she is a sweetheart!! The pointing dogs are very intelligent and eager to please. This is a very gentle breed. These dogs can be a bit high strung or timid but as a rule they get along with everybody and most of them get along well with other dogs.

Most pointing dogs are content if well exercised and trained to a job (i.e. pointing birds or other animals). If it is working, its usually happy.

A pointing dog has the same temperament as a hunting dog. The dogs have a lot of energy which needs to be constructively directed by good training. Otherwise, the dog will be uncontrollable and wild.
