YouTube is your answer buddy - plenty of videos that actually show you how to remove the GM transmission. After all a video is worth a thousand picture.... and a picture is worth a thousand words!

I've seen these tools you can get for under 50$ that can be used for GM transmission removal. They look so simple - you gotta try one of them.

If it is a rear wheel drive you will drain the transmission fluid out and then drop the driveline and pull the starter off. Then you undo the cables and start pulling the bolts out of the transmission. It's a simple but time consuming job.
