What does it mean when a guy playfully hits you?

I was hanging out with my friends and boy was play hitting me, goofing off, does it have meaning behind it?

When a guy hits on you playfully, it typically means that he may be interested in you, but is too shy to say anything. Guys do such things when they are interested, and want to see your reaction, to decide if you have have an interest in them.

Children do this when they like the other person. If you are all out of the playground it could mean that hitting may be more than playful in the future.
