Dark red blood during a period is normal, but bleeding for 2 months is not normal. It could be a hormonal problem or an abnormal pregnancy. Consult see your doctor.

It could be due to the old blood. However, if it is going on for 2 months I would suggest you to see the doctor to excude any malignancy.

It could simply mean that your period is heavier than usual and a lot of blood is being released. But this could also have something to do with outgrowth of the uterus in different areas, resulting in more release of blood in the layer.

If it has been going on for that long you should have already been in and seent the doctor they are the only ones that can answer those questions correctly.

I really do not want to scare you, but this might mean that you have endometriosis, PCOS or another reason for a cyst to be growing inside of your reproductive system. If you are concerned you should go see and OBGYN for more help.
