What can you tell me about spotting dark brown blood days prior to the start of your period?

For the past several days I have had dark brown spotting and my period is not due for three or four more days.

It is a sign that your body is discharging old blood from your previous cycle. If you find any odor in it you should consult with your doctor. Again there is a possibility that you are going to be pregnant or it is a result of an internal injury that happened during your intercourse.

It be an implantation bleeding. If yes, then you are pregnant. However, there are a lot of other things that might have caused this, such as infections, scratches, stress and etc. No one could tell this to you for sure, because it varies from person to person.

I say that it may be stress or a large number of things causing your period to be a little off. However; if you have had unprotected sex it could also be implantation bleeding which occurs in some women when the egg implants into the womb. If it doesn't turn into a full blown period see a doctor.

Dark brown spotting is often a sign of old blood that is being expelled from your body, it could be the result of implantation from a pregnancy or it could be an internal injury caused from intercourse. If you do not get your period on time you should test to rule out pregnancy.

This could mean several things. First it could mean you are pregnant. This would be implantation bleeding from the baby implanting in the lining of your uterus. This could also mean you are starting your period early, are you stressed? Also, bleeding can be caused if you are on any hormonal contraception that have not been used properly.

Dark brown spotting is older residue from possibly a prior period that is now being expelled. The dark brown is what happens to blood over time and may have occured due to injury.

This is called break through bleeding. I had that when I found out that I was pregnant. It is just old blood that didn't come out during your last period. If it has an odor to it, you should check with your doctor, but if not you should be just fine.

It is possible that it is just spotting. If you happen to be pregnant, it is likely caused by implantation of the embryo. I would try a pregnancy test if that is a possibility.

It's normal, sometimes a females body is preparing itself for its cycle and likes to flush out old blood that was left from a previous cycle or it's a sign that the uterine lining was breaking down. The flow starts normally after and the blood should be a bit brighter in appearance.

Sometimes in a woman's period starts off with a darker discharge, then it progresses to dark blood, then crimson red blood, and so forth. It's nothing to worry about.
