It could possibly mean that your air conditioning unit is not, or will not work correctly if at all. You will probably need to replace it.

Replace it?? No! Could be several things, 1. Low are flow across coils, 2.bad electrical component 3. ran in cold conditions 4. restricted refrigerent flow in copper tubing  add a comment

It means your refrigerator is locked up. It can't cool in that condition. Turn it off for about 15 minutes and let the coils unfreeze. Then turn it on again.

Typically this isn't a good sign for your air conditioner. Restricted air flow can cause this problem so make sure your air filter isn't too dirty. A more costly cause though is that it could indicate you're low on coolant, which requires finding the leak and then replacing the coolant.

That's the coils in the unit. They freeze up sometimes when the unit is set to a setting that is too cold. To unfreeze them you have to turn the unit off and let it thaw out.
