Tongue ulcers are frequently caused by dietary irritants - most often citrus fruits. Another very common cause is food and drink that is too hot. Other causes include spicy food, cigarette use, or excessive alcohol consumption.

Tongue ulcers can be caused by a number of things. Eating a lot of hot or spicy foods can be one thing. Some medications can make your tongue sore. If you have poor dental hygeine or broken teeth, this can make sores on your tongue. If they last long, see your doctor or dentist.

Tongue ulcers are usually caused by acidic foods, (oranges, tomato, dressings, etc.) or spicy or too hot foods rather then a vitamin deficiency or overload.

Tongue ulcers can be caused by medications,I am not sure if vitamins could even be considered, viral infections, dental appliances, rough edges of your teeth, exposure to irritants, allergic reaction to tooth paste or other mouth products, disorder of your body, such as iron deficiency, and having a dry mouth.
