Symptoms of vaginitis include abnormal discharge, vaginal itching, pain, and discomfort, often during intercourse or while urinating. Different types of vaginitis can cause different symptoms, particularly different types of discharge. Most of the time recovery time is quick and there are few complications, but see a doctor if you have any concerns.

Some symptoms may be redness, itching, bad smelling discharge, if yeast infection is present, a "cottage cheese" sort of discharge, etc. It can become serious if left untreated, plus being very uncomfortable, but is easy to treat. See your doctor.

Vaginitis can cause itching, burning, redness, changes in discharge, and pain during sex or urination. It can be caused by yeast or bacteria. If you have never had a yeast infection before or if it does not respond to anti-fungal medication, you should see a doctor.

Vaginitis is a catch all term for an irritation or inflamation of the vagina, like bronchitis is an inflamation of the bronchial tubes. It can be caused by many different things, not all of which have anything to do with STDs. Sometimes it's something serious so for your own peace of mind check with your health provider.

Vaginitis commonly presents with itching, burning, and foul smelling discharge. It can generally be cured with a one time antibiotic or antifungal treatment. Only your doctor can tell if it's vaginitis or something more serious.
