Retinal hemorrhage can be caused by several things. Often times a blunt blow to the head, or a fall will trigger a hemorrhage. Blurry and decrease of vision or symptoms and sometimes if you are a diabetic, you are more apt to get retinal hemorrhages. Diabetics should get yearly dilated exams.

Most commonly, there are no signs, but they could be blur, spots in your vision, redness in your vision, distortions in areas of your vision. The most common cause is diabetes, but high blood pressure also. These are preventable diseases which have their own symptoms. You should be getting annual eye exams if you have these diseases.

The Dr. I work for says if a person see flashing light and half of the vision goes is a good indication of a retinal hemorrhage. Floaters are another symptoms. The flashing light some people describe them as streaks of lighting in the outer edge of the eye. If this happens please go to the Dr. aspa.
