In the state of Missouri there is a seventy five dollar fee to prctice tattooing. In addition you must pay the department of economic development annually for a license. They will inspect the premises where you intend to work to make sure they are in sanitary condition and acceptable for tattooing.

Apprenticeship is required under the supervision of a licensed tattooist. You need to complete the license application and can only work in a licensed, inspected establishment. You will have to go to Missouri's website, they have many qualifications depending on whether you tattoo, tattoo and pierce, tattoo pierce and brand, etc- there is too much to list here.

You have to learn to make tattoos under supervision of a licensed expert tattoo artist. Then you have to complete the license application form and after inspection you will be given the license. After getting the license a licensed tattoo artist can't make tattoo on minor or drugged up ones otherwise license will be canceled.

The Missouri laws are to make sure to not tattoo an minor unless there is a parent's consent. They also can't tattoo anyone that is intoxicated or drugged up. They must keep their shop clean, or they can risk getting their shop taken
