My dog loves to "dig" and mold his bedding every night and while he's worn spots out and created holes, he hasn't quite torn anything. My best suggestion is to keep the nails trimmed and use old blankets rather than buying an expensive bedding pad. Good luck!

You can buy spray at Wal Mart and other stores that you can spray on things to have a dog stop tearing up furniture and other items. The spray has some type of odor that the dogs won't like, however, it may stop the dog from resting in the bed at all.

You can try finding a bedding of a different type of material. Perhaps canvas or something stronger and more durable than what you are currently using. Otherwise contemplate no bedding for your dog. They are perfectly fine sleeping on carpet or hardwood floors.

Try getting a kind of bedding he can't tear up easily, like a soft mat or something. You can also try telling him "no" every time you see him doing it, and he will learn not to.
