Yes, you can mix them together. It's a good way to get your baby used to the taste of formula. Be sure to discard any unused portion after an hour.

It is safe, but it's better is you breastfeed your baby first and then you feed him/her with formula. if you mix breast milk with formula and your baby does not drink the whole bottle, you cannot keep it because it's already contaminated. In addition, you are wasting your precious breast milk.

If your baby will eat the full bottle, it is acceptable to mix them. Remember, formula should be discarded after one hour if the baby has drank from the bottle.

It would probably be better to simply feed the bottle of breastmilk and have another bottle of formula ready for when baby's done. That way, if the baby doesn't finish the breastmilk, you can save it and let them finish it later. If you mix it with formula and they don't finish, it has to be thrown away.

Breastfeeding is the best way to feed your child. Nothing compares to it. It is safe to mix formula with breast feeding though, many healthy babies have both, but nothing beats natural breastfeeding. Formula is designed for children, and scientists wouldn't create something harmful for a baby. It is safe.
