In the United States, no. You are not allowed to capture or "own" any wild birds; it is against the law. Even if an animal seems hurt or abandoned, you should call the wildlife rehabilitation companies in your area instead of taking it in yourself. Well-intended or otherwise, wild animals do much better with wildlife rehab than with average citizens.

No. It's not legal to catch and keep any wild bird in the U.S., under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. So you cannot capture a dove from the wild. It's also illegal to keep the feathers of a wild native bird species. You can raise orphan wild baby birds with a permit, but you must release them.

no, it is not legal to capture wild doves unless you have a special license to capture wild animals you are aloud to capture a wild animal that is injured but by law you have to report it to your local animal welfare place. wild doves would also be very hard t capture as they are very fast.

It all depends on the laws of where you are residing, but i would suggest you go buy a dove being that they would be more easy going with humans.

Check with your local DEC officer or their website to find the laws for your area. In most places the answer is no, but it does vary.

YES and No it is according to the state your in. some state's have a bag limit on dove's and regulation on dove hunting and in many place's they have a season check with your local wildlife and game warden for full detail and information on your state's regulations and guidline's.

That probably depends on the laws in the state in which you live. If they are considered migratory game birds like ducks or geese they may be under federal regulation. In my state you would need to apply for a permit and the facility where you keep them would be subject to inspection. It may not be legal.
