I have a strained tendon.

Answer by  MattK (1713)

A mild strain without inflammation may heal in three or four weeks at a minimum. Any worse and it may be a long term affair, since tendon injuries are the worst of any type. Your best course of action would be to consult an Orthopedic surgeon or Rheumatologist, the former being the better choice.

If when the injury occured you iced it for about thirty minuted, and then elevated it, that should make healing faster. it's hard to wrap a tendon injury , depending where it is, so rest is crucial to healing. you should be up and about in two or three weeks.

The time required for a tendon to heal depends on the severity of the strain and its location. If you have strained your Achille's tendon, the healing may take up to several months. This is dependent on how long you are able to be off your feet.

Unless it is an achilles tendon, it should take about 6-8 weeks for it to heal. If it is your achilles tendon it could take longer because the sheath that surrounds it remains inflamed after the tendont is healed.

A tendon takes quite a long time to heal. A broken bone averages six weeks to mend on the other , a tendon may take close to a year. If the tendon is in a foot its constantly set back in the healing process by bearing weight.
