How do you know when your water breaks when you are pregnant?

I am concerned that I will not be able to tell that my water has broken.

When your water breaks it can either be a rush of fluid, or a trickle, which can be confusing because it can feel like accidental urination. Anytime you feel something that might be your water breaking, your doctor can give you a panty liner that detects amniotic fluid.

Trust me, you will know. You will get very wet and continue to dribble. By this time, you should also be having contractions.

only about 10% of women's water will break before labor. When your water does break, there is a lot of water that is released. It is not like a monthly period discharge, that is only a tiny bit of fluid at a time.

You should have no problem telling if your water breaks. You will feel a gush of water, like you've wet yourself.
