Currently, 1 US dollar is equal to about 12.79 Mexican pesos. That means if you have 100 pesos, you would divide by 12.79 to get 100/12.79 = $7.82 US dollars.

Divide the equivalent of one us dollar into the total amount of pesos. For example if the exchange rate is 100 peso to one us dollar then 600 pesos will be equalled to 600/100=$6 us dollar.

It depends what country is peso if example you will convert $1.00 dollars to Philippines Peso. In the Philippine Peso the one dollar ($1.00) is equivalent to forty three pesos (P43.00). Times $1.00 to 43.00 to get the convertion. Here is the formula how to convert Peso to U.S. dollars ($1.00 x 43.00 = p43.00)
