How do you change the brake light on a Focus?

First you unbolt the tail light from the actual car. It may be held on to the car with two or three bolt. On the the tail light is off the car. you have have to turn the old bulb off the tail light. Once that is off, pull the old bulb off the socket. install new bulb.

You are going to need to open up the hatch back or trunk and you will notice two screws holding the light in. you will take out the screws and pop the bulb out and put in the new one.

In order to access the brake light you will need to go in through the trunk. Turn the bulb slighlty and then pull it should slide right out. Remove the old bulb and replace with a new one of the correct size, any car parts store can help with the correct part. Then reinsert bulb and twist to secure.

Look in the trunk. Remove the carpet behind the brake light housing, it's just a few small plastic clips. You'll see a number of sockets with wires coming out. Twist the sockets to remove them from the housing, then unplug the old bulb. Installation is reverse of the above. Good luck!
