Yes! It is a possibilty that getting your tongue pierced can cause permanent paralysis to the face! If the person who performs the piercing is not careful they can hit a nerve that would cause either your left side, right side, or whole face to become paralyzed. It is really not worth the risk!

tongue is an important organ which helps in sense of taste. it has sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve supply,which when damaged may cause paralyzes.

Yes you actually can paralyze your face for a tongue piercing but it is very rare. Most piercers are trained professionals and they know what they are doing. The only way it can happen is if they pierce in the wrong spot and it hits a nerve within your tongue.

No you can not become paralyzed getting your tongue pierced. The nerve which is in the tongue is in your jaw bone.
