There will be a lot of swelling the first few days after a tongue piercing. The piercer will place a longer bar in the tongue because of the swelling. The first few days are painful.

There might be minimal swelling after piercing your tongue but it would not affect you at all. Usually too much swelling just indicates infection and that would be bad for your tongue.

I have my tongue pierced. Yes there will be some swelling after the procedure. Remember to eat a meal before you go, because with the swelling you will not feel like eating afterwards. I would do it again, the swelling doesn't last to long.

You have a 50/50 chance of your tongue swelling. It hurts some people and not others. If you do get swelling it can last up to a week. Make sure you Listerine after everything. Good Luck

A little bit of swelling is normal for a day or two. After that, the swelling should reduce. It really isn't painful either. It is suggested that you only eat soft foods for the first week or two so you don't irritate your piercing. It heals fairly quickly because there is a lot of blood that goes to the tongue.
