Question by  Senuue (98)

Can a tubal ligation be reversed if the tubes were burned?

Answer by  patti (29325)

Every case is different. Your gynecologist can look into your specific situation and advise you accordingly. You may have to be referred to a surgeon who specializes in ligation reversals. Some tubals can be reversed, but there is never a guarantee.

Yes it can. Just with any tube altering surgery, the tubes can grow back. In the case of burning the tubes, you are searing the nerves but they will eventually grow back albeit may take longer than if if they were simply cut or tied. There are however occasions where tubes never grow back.
