Why do people listen to rap?

People listen to rap because it's what appeals to them. Some people love it and some people hate it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some people listen to rap because in some way the lyrics speak to them maybe their emotions and the genre its self.

People listen to rap because it appeals to their musical tastes. It is most likely the case that they like simple music; something with a beat that's easy to hear and a catchy melody. Also, they might be looking for something that's easy to dance to, and rap usually is quite easy to dance to.
