Steve decided that 100 episodes was enough and wanted to pursue other opportunities. He ended up becoming a musician. There are also rumors that he was going bald and didn't want to be on TV anymore because of it.
He never left altogether he just moved behind the camera as producer to try and help him further his career. He also now records children's music. You can catch at least one of his bands music videos (for a song called Dirt) on the Nick Jr. TV station.
