Why are Jehovah Witness churches windowless?

There is no documented reason for this. Some JW churches actually do have windows, but you will see that these ones are ones that came to be before 1960. Any newly built or remodeled ones will not have windows. The reasons range from an economic standpoint to a preventative for vandalism.

I asked this question of a Jehovah's Witness once. They said it's because the members build the church themselves according to set plans, and windowless buildings are easier to build.
