Born in what is now Belarus to Jewish parents, Blume (1906-1992) came to the US as a child. The painter and sculptor's work often showed destruction and reconstruction in tandem.
He is an American artist who lived in the early to late 1900's. Mostly know for his folk art, he also did some cubism, surrealism, etc. He is responsible for "The Rock", "Eternal City", and "South of Scranton".
