First, look at the nutrition facts panel on foods you buy. The protein content is on the label. If you go to a restaurant, they may have nutrition facts available on menus, pamphlets or their website. For other reference, the USDA National Nutrient Database if available online and has a lot of information.

There are several books at your local Barnes & Noble and Borders that are specific to measuring protein content in various foods and meals. There are also hundreds of websites that can help you.
