During the two weeks after the kittens are born, the mother cat leaves them only to eat and to use the bathroom. Then, the mother kitten leaves them more often but it is always paying attention to them. When it stops nursing the kittens, they will become more and more independent.

This depends on the mother cat and how she was raised. Some mother cats will stay with their kittens (offspring) for their whole entire lives, if given the chance. Cats form large groups (cat communities. ) Usually people give kittens away or sell them, leaving the mother and the kittens heartbroken.

Mother cats generally leave their kittens when it is time for them to be weaned. She will try to avoid them when they try to eat from her as a way to teach them this.

some mother cats will leave them right away or try to eat them. watch out for that. other cats will leave them if the kittens are touched before the mother cat feels like they are ready. ive seen that happen. other mother cats won't ever leave them and are upset when the kittens are taken away. just depends.

A mother cat will continue to let her kittens nurse well after they no longer need to. She would be fine staying with them for up to a year.

For the first two weeks, the mother cat will only leave to eat and use the bathroom. After two weeks, she will stay away for longer lengths of time.
