There will be a lot of bleeding and pain for the mother to endure, on top of emotional stress and a huge sense of failure. Fathers should also grieve.

At 4 weeks pregnant a miscarriage is like a very long, strong period, with very heavy cramping. You may pass some clotted tissue, but you may not notice. If the cramping lasts much longer than a week, you should see you primary care practitioner to make sure everything is ok.

It will probably just feel like you have a period. In fact, most people who miscarry that early don't even know it. Usually you don't find out you are pregnant for about 4 weeks.

Not medical advice: At 4 weeks you will experience excessive bleeding. You will also have cramping and soak 2-3 every 2-3 hours. Best of Luck.
