What treatment can I do to get my gauged ears to close?

Your ears need time to close. You can speak to your doctor about minor cosmetic surgery that can be done in most offices, but there is nothing you personally can do that would be safe at home. The hole needs time to shrink naturally, or your doctor can reopen it and allow it to heal.

Closing the holes is not always successful unless you resort to surgery. Remove the large gauge plugs. After a hot shower massage vitamin E lotion into the earlobes to break down scar tissue. Replace plugs with a smaller guage. Continue to do this until they are the size you want.

Because gauged ear holes are created with scar tissue there is little that can be done, but try daily massage to increase blood flow to the area.
