Heartworms are extremely uncommon in humans. If you've been treated for heartworms, your condition should be closely monitored during and after treatment. Your physician can advise whether you should become pregant any time soon.

Heartworms can be passed through the placenta. However, if they do make it through they will not be able to devolope into actual worms. If they puppy is positive and treated after birth the worms will die and never affect it's health. If the heartworm was successfully treated this will most likely not even be an issue.

Since you've had a problem with heartworms recently when you do get pregnant your doctor will probably monitor you frequently to make sure they do not come back. Probably a bit more frequently than most other expecting mothers due to the heartworms. You should be fine, but they always want to make sure for the baby's sake.
