I would first inspect the water intake and exit ports for obstructions. Calcified buildups sometimes occur that can restrict the flow during periods of high demand from the engine. Having checked the ports I would next verify that the prop I have installed is correct pitch for my engine/outdrive combination. The final step would be to inspect the pump impeller.

You should check and change the coolant in the radiator. If it still does it you probably have a bad fan or solenoid for the fan.

You could try changing the oil , or reducing the RPMs . You could try also installing a better cooling system.

a boat motor is cooled by water from the area that it is submerged in. sometimes the cooling system can become clogged. it could be mud or moss or anything. if it is clogged, the motor cannot recieve the water that it needs to cool it. stop motor and check the cooling system.

You must take your hoses off and use a garden hose. Check the raw water hose connector in the outdrive, as it most likely perforated due to corrosion.
