A "pregnant" parakeet or one that is sitting on eggs should be provided with the standard foods. This would be a good quality parakeet diet, fresh clean water, cuttle bone, millet and fresh foods. When the eggs hatch it is recommended to provide more water and feed than usual along and additional soft foods.

Either seeds or pellets should be offered to the pregnant parakeet. Adding a drop of vitamin with their regular food will help them in pregnant situation. Don't add vitamin with the water and keep parakeet's dish clean.

Birds are not pregnant, the time that is takes an egg to be produced is 24-48 hours. A regular good balanced diet is all that is needed, usually obtained by a pellet diet.

Bird's do not get pregnant like mammals do. If your bird has a distended belly, they need immediate medical treatment. If you mean 'egg laying parakeet' then providing her with lots of protein, fresh water and nutrients as well as quiet is best for her.

pregnant parakeets must have a cool atmosphere and any food like egg, papaya and mango should be avoided as it may heat up her body, all kinds of other fruits can be given. boiled vegetables like carrot, beans, greens can be added to her diet, which will increase her stamina and serves as nutritious food.
