My earliest childhood memories of my grandfather and father's blue heelers are extremely positive and memorable. Blue heelers are fiercely loyal, intelligent, and are real hustlers who love running and penning livestock. They are also very loving and protective of small children.

The Blue Heeler is a highly intelligent, energetic, independent and obedient dog. They love to be around humans and mix very well with children who were around them from their puppy stage. Lack of activity and exercise can lead to behavioral problems. They may be aggressive toward strangers and other pets, however they courageous personality makes them excellent watchdogs.

Blue heelers are very energetic. They are a working breed raised to herd cattle. They are tough and in your face dogs that need a job. They can take to chasing cars or herding and nipping children if they do not have a proper job to do. These dogs need to be with their humans most of every day.
