a 1944-1949 penny is worth $0. 10-0. 20 depending on grade with the exception of the 1944D/S worth $70-$150. Starting in 1950-1958 the pennies are worth $0. 20-$0. 50 with a couple worth $1 depending on grade.

1944 is considered a common date for wheat cents. In circulated condition, it's worth about two cents. A nice uncirculated one is worth about twenty-five cents. A 1956 wheat penny, depending on its condition, is five dollars in perfect condition. If it is in an average condition then it's worth about five cents.

The value of coins depends on the condition, mint mark, and what someone is willing to give you for it. Having said that, coins in this time frame typically can be sold for 2 cents to 4 cents each.
