Here is what I said. My Parents name and My Husbands Parent's name would like to invite you to attend the engagment of their daughter (My Full Name) to (My Husbands full Name) and then all the details. It's very similar to wedding invitation wording

You need to say; Mr. and Mrs. John James request the pleasure of your company at a Dinner to celebrate the engagement of their daughter, Jane to Richard Smith,on Friday, 16th June, 8.00pm at - party venue and address - followed by your address and contact details
