The average temperature of a volcano can range anywhere from 700C to 1500C (1300F to 2700F). This is because during the years a volcano is dormant, the heat in the volcano bleeds off to achieve homogeneous with the environment surrounding it, thus lowering the overall temperature of the volcano as time passes.

When a volcano is dormant or inactive, the temperature is the same with that of the ground surrounding it, while the temperature in an active volcano is between 700 °C to 1,500 °C.
