The highest credit rating that a person can usually achieve is 850. Typically, anything above 700 is considered to be excellent. However, it also depends on the company reporting the credit score. There are reports that some places range up to 1000. Either way maintaining a score of 650+ is usually adequate for the average person.

The highest credit score is at around 800 I believe. Most people don't have this score. A good credit score to have would be between 600 and around 750. That would make your eligible for most loans and houses.

Credit scores range from about 300 to 900. The average person has about a 580-630. Having bills paid on time makes a big difference in your score, and not having too many credit cards.

The highest FICO credit score is an 800. Often times, scores above 600 or 650 are considered to be decent, though lenders have been stricter in this down economy.
