What is the difference between "blue ray" and DVD?

DVD is a digital video medium while BLU Ray is a higher quality digital video. It uses a special blue light sensor to read the disc. They are increasingly smaller than DVDs and hold more information per disc. Better picture, vibrant colors.

Bluray displays 1,080 rows of pixels - that is the highest number possible and gives you the best and most clear picture. DVD only shows between 480 and 720 rows of pixels. However, you will only see a difference if your TV has a resolution of 1080p.
