What is the difference between a flat TV and a flat-screen TV?

A flat tv is actually just that, thin and flat. They are usually hung on a wall, or are placed on smaller entertainment stands, thus taking up much less space. A flat screen tv is a tv that has a flat screen on it, but it could still be one of the large sets.

A flat panel is the whole tv panel whcih is flat kinda of like a sheet of paper where as a flat screen TV is just the sgreen is flat as to the other tv screens with a slight curve on the screen. So pretty much most new Tvs are flat panel.
