Depending on your state, the most affordable is often public instate community college, and many have online classes. Stay away from for profit private online colleges. They really add up

The most inexpensive universities available are going to be junior colleges, or community colleges, which are usually local and much smaller than a normal university. They do offer online classes, but these are two-year schools, so the most you can graduate with is an AA degree (Associate of the Arts.)
