Windsurfing boards are usually measured by width rather than length. Beginners should use a wider board as it is easier and more comfortable to use. When boards get longer the width tends to get thinner and they require more skill to use. There are a variety of boards available according to skill.

After trying many boards myself I came to find out that the best board length was about eight feet three inches.
