Let's be real here, an iPod really does not match up. Poor controls disturb your rhythm if you need to make changes. Old school buttons are the best, and they just dont' make them like that any more. Old Rio's or The Dell are best.

The best mp3 player to use while running is an Apple iPod, because Apple makes so many iPod accessories specifically for runners. For example, they make an iPod armband that straps around your upper arm and holds the iPod, so that you can run, listen to music, and not have to worry about holding on to your music player.

Most mp3 players are pretty equal at this point. However, the most accessories are made for the iPod mp3 players by Apple. You'll find a tremendous assortment of athletic accessories for their iPod mp3 players.

Hey guys!!! My fair recommendation is - forget all previous options! =) The best mp3 solution for running is "Sony NWZ-W252". The reason is that it is without wires (a 2-in-1 gadget - mp3-player is built into headphones), it's waterproof, sound placement on head, simple usage, best quality from Sony

Ipods are great for running if you get the touch then it will be good the only thing that isnt great is if you have the jiggle to shuffle then it will shuffle the song over and over.

Pretty much any of them will work but you would probably want something small with a clip and tactile controls. Check out the Sansa clip, Samsung ypu1, or Ipod shuffle.

If you are ONLY using it for this, any player without a screen is perfect because it will only need to shuffle. Anything less than $50 is ideal.

Well I think any type of smaller sized mp3 player would work. Something like an Ipod shuffle or Sansa clip that could be clipped onto a shirt or armband.
